Job Description:

FUNCTION:

Non-exempt. Perform maintenance and repairs of plant instrumentation and controls.

DUTIES:

Works under general supervision to perform varying tasks such as:

  • Installs and maintains the non-Q1 process control instrumentation systems and devices.
  • Performs testing and verification of operability of plant instruments and controls. May replace defective parts after testing.
  • Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions, conduct repairs and re-tests the equipment.
  • Perform minor instrumentation equipment repairs.
  • Maintains test equipment inventory.
  • Works with the Buyer/Inventory Control Specialist to maintain appropriate levels of spare equipment/parts.
  • Assist in electrical and mechanical maintenance activities as needed.
  • Assists the Q-1 instrument technician as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Continuous field/facility work required where there is potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust and hot and cold temperatures. Climbing, walking and lifting will be normal daily requirements.

Experience and Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Five years related instrumentation and electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to use standard electrical meters and hand tools required.
  • Proficiency in electronic technology, including theory, application, and operation of complex test equipment required.
  • Some computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to work from drawings and other specifications required.
  • Ability to work on-call duties required.
