Job Description:

Responsibilities: The HSR will report to the ESH&Q Manager and be responsible for developing and implementing project specific Health and Safety plans, procedures, and hazards analyses. The HSR will work with the Project Manager to ensure work is executed safely and compliantly. The HSR will be responsible for operating and maintaining HS instrumentation in a manner that confirms operations is being performed safely and data generated is defensible. The HSR will conduct daily safety topics and ensure project staff is trained and qualified to perform the assigned scope of work. The HSR will conduct safety site inspections and assessments according to requirements stated in the HS Plan. The HSR will be responsible for assuring personnel are properly trained in accordance with approved work plans and activity specific hazards analyses. The HSR will be responsible for ensuring operators of equipment and industrial powered trucks are properly trained and qualified. The HSR will ensure employees are empowered to stop work when unsafe conditions exist. The HSR will be responsible for collecting and managing all HS records generated during project execution.

Experience and Skills:

Education: Must have a bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related engineering, technical or science discipline. Must have OSHA 30 HR general industry or construction certification. Must have CIH or CSP certification or have the capability of achieving certification within 3-6 months of hire date.  A total of 13 years of field experience in remediation/demolition with 3 years involving ES&H responsibilities may be accepted in lieu of 4-year degree depending on the company needs.

Experience: Must have at least 5 years of documented field experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or construction safety management plus a minimum of 3 years of field experience in remediation/demolition of radiological affected sites.. Must have experience in deploying, operating and maintaining IH instrumentation and making safety decisions based on documented information. Must have experience in training a mobilized workforce within short period of time. Must have experience in providing rigorous, safety oversight and giving sound direction for safety related matters in a timely manner. Must have experience in conducting incident/accident investigation and understand how to identify causal factors. Must have experience in developing actions that correct adverse safety conditions while maintaining an ideal operating environment. Must have experience in integrating QA/QC concepts into operational activities. Experience with DOE, DOD or USACE projects is highly preferred.

This position is suited for safety professionals that can travel to support short and long term projects located throughout the United States, Canada or Mexico with minimum notification.
